Course Overview

Our Drums program takes students through a structured journey from understanding the fundamentals of rhythm and drumming to developing advanced technique, groove and musical independence. Students build strong foundations in stick control, rudiments, coordination, timing and drum notation while learning grooves and repertoire across different musical styles. As they progress, students explore Rock, Latin, Funk, Disco and more complex rhythmic concepts, while developing improvisation and soloing skills. The advanced levels focus on complex grooves, odd time signatures, hand-foot coordination, tuning and musical interpretation, preparing students to become confident and versatile drummers.

  • Technique & Stick Control – Develop grip, strokes, rudiments, coordination and control through structured technical exercises.
  • Grooves & Rhythmic Skills – Build strong timing and groove through Rock, Latin, Funk, Disco and other rhythmic styles.
  • Music Reading & Theory – Learn drum notation, rhythmic values, time signatures, dynamics and essential musical terminology.
  • Improvisation & Soloing – Develop creativity through fills, improvisation and open drum solo concepts.
  • Advanced Musicianship – Progress towards complex grooves, hand-foot coordination, odd time signatures, metric modulation and advanced rhythmic concepts.

No Prior Experience Required – Students can begin their drumming journey without previous formal training.
