Course Overview

Our Violin program introduces students to the fundamentals of playing while gradually developing technique, musical understanding and performance confidence. Students learn correct posture, bowing, fingering, scales, rhythm and basic music reading through structured exercises and repertoire. As they progress, they develop greater control, intonation, expression and musicality while exploring a variety of musical styles. The course is designed to help students become confident violinists who can perform both independently and as part of an ensemble.

Course Highlights

Technique & Stick Control – Develop grip, strokes, rudiments, coordination and control through structured technical exercises.
Grooves & Rhythmic Skills – Build strong timing and groove through Rock, Latin, Funk, Disco and other rhythmic styles.
Music Reading & Theory – Learn violin notation, rhythmic values, time signatures, dynamics and essential musical terminology.
Improvisation & Soloing – Develop creativity through fills, improvisation and open violin solo concepts.
Advanced Musicianship – Progress towards complex grooves, hand-foot coordination, odd time signatures, metric modulation and advanced rhythmic concepts.

Age 7+

Age-appropriate violin training designed to develop technique, musical understanding and confidence at every stage.

Structured Level Progression

Progress from Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced, with each stage building progressively towards stronger technique, musicianship and performance skills.

Trinity & RSL Pathways

Students can prepare for internationally recognised Trinity College London violin examinations as part of their musical progression.

Flexible Learning & Expert Trainers

Learn through flexible online, offline or private tuition with experienced violin trainers guiding students through technique, repertoire and performance.

Considerations

No Prior Experience Required – Students can begin their violin journey without any previous formal musical training.

Own Violin Recommended – Students are encouraged to have their own violin for regular practice and skill development.
